SEE
Up the hill from the town centre, you will find Hauteville House, a former home of Victor Hugo, which is now a museum. A must see for poets and writers. For a glimpse of history, head to Guernsey Tapestry or learn more about our history during WW2 at La Vallette Underground Military Hospital or German Naval Signals HQ.
SHOP
Market square is a hub for activity during Fresh Friday markets, as well as throughout the summer when Seafront Sundays commences. With low duty prices and no VAT, take home some Guernsey goodies from the local shops.
DO
Castle Cornet has stood guard over the town for 800 years and provides a wonderful backdrop, as well as a setting for theatre productions and musical events. Explore it's four museums, and don't miss out on Noon Day Gun, fired daily. Candie Gardens is a must for both keen gardeners and history lovers.
DINE
From formal to informal dining you can soak in the views and enjoy seafood straight from the sea or pork sourced from locally-reared pigs, as well as super-creamy milk from Guernsey Cows which provides delicious creams and cheese. Our pubs serve local ales and ciders.
